2015 Lincoln MKS Stocks & Cars For Sale | Kelley's Blue Book (2023)

The 2015 Lincoln MKS luxury sedan looks like a luxury car, with clean lines, an impressive grille and lots of high-tech gadgets filling the interior. While Lincoln may have aspirations from Audi and BMW for its largest sedan, the reality is that it doesn't quite match the refinement of those cars. Instead, it affects cars like the Acura RLX, Chrysler 300, Cadillac XTS and Hyundai Genesis, which are still good company. With the Lincoln MKS, buyers can choose between two V6 engines, one of which is the excellent EcoBoost V6, which comes with all-wheel drive. Add in attractive electronic interfaces like touch-sensitive climate controls, and the MKS has luxurious Lincoln styling.

Used 2015 Lincoln MKS Price

The base-model 2015 Lincoln MKS Premiere with standard V6 engine and front-wheel drive starts at just under $40,000 when destination fee is included. The MKS Elite trim costs around $43,000. If you want all-wheel drive in your standard MKS, add an extra $2,000, but you can also upgrade to the EcoBoost Premiere instead, which costs around $46,700 and comes with most non-Turbo Elite units anyway is delivered. Load up the EcoBoost and you'll see a price tag of over $50,000, but not much above that. That's slightly less than the Cadillac XTS and Acura RLX, but still more than the Chrysler 300C and Hyundai Genesis. Check Kelley Blue Book's fair price to see what others in your area are paying for their MKS, but remember that Lincoln doesn't hold its value like its German and Japanese competitors.

Driving the used 2015 Lincoln MKS

The standard 304hp 3.7L V6 in the 2015 Lincoln MKS is good, delivering its power smoothly through a 6-speed automatic transmission and driving this big 4-door with authority while managing decent fuel economy. But if you're looking for real performance, step up to the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. With an additional 61 hp it gives the Lincoln MKS a real kick in the pants and delivers near V8 levels of acceleration. The MKS's adaptive suspension system improves cornering and emergency response while still providing a comfortable ride. While the MKS is by no means a sports sedan, its precise steering and firm, confident brakes are certainly more fun to drive than a Lexus ES.

Indoor comfort

While we like the clean look they give to the cabin, the Lincoln MKS' touch-sensitive controls take a bit of getting used to. Once you master them and the MyLincoln Touch infotainment system, it's easy to adjust the weather settings, find your favorite radio stations, and get comfortable. Steering wheel-mounted controls duplicate many of the functions found on the dash, and along with redundant LCD displays on either side of the speedometer, help you focus on the road ahead. The comfortable seats come standard with heating and cooling and can be upholstered in expensive but luxurious Bridge of Weir leather.

Exterior-Styling

Like many large luxury cars these days, the 2015 Lincoln MKS features a large, expressive grille. It's by far the boldest exterior design feature on a car that's otherwise fairly tame but nonetheless attractive. While we like the adaptive HID headlights, contoured hood, and details like the lip on the decklid, in profile the MKS looks a lot like the Ford Taurus. Still, the twin tailpipes help give the MKS a powerful feel, and we particularly like the 19-inch wheels with EcoBoost trims and the blackout appearance package, which includes 20-inch wheels and a dark grille and headlight.

ENABLE PARK ASSISTANT
If the thought of parallel parking paralyzes you with stage fright, the Lincoln MKS' Active Park Assist will help. Using the parking sensors, it measures the available parking space and then does most of the work to park the car.

AIR CONDITIONED SEATS
Heated and cooled seats are a godsend when temperatures reach extremes, and the 2015 Lincoln MKS is one of the few cars to come standard with standard equipment. Rear passengers get heated seats, also standard.

standard functions

As expected of a premium sedan, the 2015 Lincoln MKS comes with a long list of standard features, including SYNC connectivity and communications system, adaptive HID headlights, 12-way power front seats, leather seating surfaces (with heating and cooling in the front seats ). ), automatic high beams and climate control... and yes, the SecuriCode keyless entry pad that Lincoln swears his customers love. For a touch of sportiness, push-button start and 19-inch cast-aluminum wheels are also standard. As far as safety is concerned, Lincoln's blind spot monitors, rear view camera and forward/reverse detection system also come as standard.

Work options

A decent number of upgrades are available for the 2015 Lincoln MKS, including Active Park Assist, four-wheel drive, a navigation system, heated rear seats, 20-inch wheels and HD radio. Also available are a remote start system, power rear sun visor, heated steering wheel, power pedals, multi-contour massage front seats, THX Certified Audio II with 16 speakers and a 10-inch subwoofer, and a two-piece sunroof. Advanced driver-assistance technology is also in the form of Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist and Warning available.

engine and gears

Lincoln MKS buyers can choose between two different V6 engines. Standard is the 3.7-liter V6 that puts out 304 horsepower and 279 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels. The upgrade is the 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 that makes a robust 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive is standard on EcoBoost models and available on 3.7-liter models. Surprisingly, the more powerful EcoBoost has about the same fuel economy as the 3.7-litre all-wheel drive, so it's a no-brainer if you plan to switch to all-wheel drive anyway. Both engines can run on regular unleaded petrol and are coupled to a manually shiftable 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission.

KBB Vehicle Rating and Rating Methodology

Our expert ratings come from hours of driving and crunching the numbers to ensure you're picking the best car for you. We thoroughly test and analyze every new SUV, car, truck or minivan sold in the United States and compare it to the competition. When all that dust settles, we'll have our qualifications.

We need new ratings every time a completely new vehicle or a new generation of an existing vehicle comes onto the market. Additionally, we reevaluate these ratings when a next-generation vehicle receives a mid-cycle upgrade; Basically, we rework a car midway through its production run (usually after around 2-3 years) with a minor facelift, often with feature and technology upgrades.

Instead of drawing random numbers or a meaningless checklist, the KBB editorial team places a vehicle where it belongs in its class. Before a car gets its KBB rating, it has to prove that it's better (or worse) than the other cars it competes with, as it tries to trick you into spending your money on buying or leasing.

Our editors drive and live with a specific vehicle. We ask the right questions about the interior, exterior, engine and powertrain, ride and handling, equipment, comfort and of course the price. Does it serve the purpose for which it was built? (Whether that purpose is to efficiently travel to and from work across the city, keep your family safe, make you feel like you've reached the top or are on your way, or make you feel finally found the right place .) the right partner for your lifestyle).

We examine every vehicle we test for both the mundane (parking, lane changing, reversing, cargo space and cargo) and the essentials: acceleration, braking, handling, interior noise and comfort, build quality, material quality, reliability.
