But they harbor unhealthy obsessions and can become violent and unpredictable when their loved one is taken from them.

Yandere are often seen as chaotic characters in anime. They usually have dead eyes, full of blood,and have a good laugh. It is not uncommon for a yandere to murder her lover's entire family with the intention of having them all for herself. Not all of them are necessarily bloodthirsty or want to kill someone, but their violent tendencies come through and terrify those around them. But those who are comfortable taking a few or many lives to protect the object of their obsession will do so in a messy way. These are some of the best female yandere characters in the anime world that are terrifying yet seductive to watch.

20 Belarus (Hetalia: Axis Powers)

Belarus is in love with her older brother Russia and wants to marry him. He doesn't feel that way about her and tries to avoid her as much as possible, but that doesn't deter her. Even afterall other countries leave Russia,She stays with him and explains that she never wants to leave, though he thinks it's a little creepy.

It also doesn't help that Belarus carries a knife and isn't afraid to use it for the slightest trouble. She may not be the creepiest fool out there, but Belarus is still a woman most people don't want to mess with.

19 Kurenai Rin (Big Order)

While most yandere girls out there are in love with the target of their obsession, Kurenai Rin is on the other end. In fact, she hates Hoshimiya Eiji, the boy she is supposed to murder. Her obsession with him was so strong that she killed Tohru Mutou just because he was close to Natsuno. She even killed her childhood friend Kaori to get close to him.

She didn't mind killing the villagers and becoming a Shiki was a good thing. To think that the villagers were constantly picking on herbecause of her appearanceIt's no surprise that she happily killed most of them after becoming Shiki.

Kofuku may not seem like your typical yandere, but this sweet and lively girl has a dark side that even Bishamon, the goddess of war, doesn't want to mess with. She is aware of what is happening around her and is not afraid to threaten the gods if they threaten her or hurt someone she cares about. Although she is not worshiped and is considered an unnamed god, most gods shun her for fear of her unusual abilities and power.

The only other person she feels affection for is Ochako Ururaka, who she tries to be because she loves her.

Misa may not have the crazy yandere face, but she sure has a lot of yandere characteristics. She was more than OK with giving up half her life to get the Shinigami Eyes to help Light. She was obsessed with him and swore her life to serve him. Light uses her feelings for him to her own advantage and she never once sees him as evil.

In Penguindrum, Ringo is a student at Ohka Garden Girls' High School. Before it was revealed that she had a yandere nature, the anime already showed fans how mentally unstable she was. Ringo Oginome's older sister was killed in a terrorist attack, leading to the disintegration of her family. This caused her to act like her deceased sister in hopes that this could save her family.

Ringo becomes a stalker and pursues Keiju Tabuki, her sister's crush, to the point of obsession. When he becomes engaged, Ringo drugs both Keiju and Shoma Takakura, her friend. She then drags her "lover" into the bedroom and tries to molest him while pretending to be his fiancée, even wearing a wig to look like her. This scene definitely willgive the fans goosebumps. Luckily, Shoma wakes up and stops them before it goes too far.

5 Minatsuki Takami (Deadman Wonderland)

Minatsuki, also known as Hummingbird, is the younger sister of Yō Takami in Deadman Wonderland. She was a normal girl until one day an earthquake happened while she was in the garden with her mother.Minatsuki's mother decided to save her plantsinstead of saving his daughter. From here it was downhill. Minatsuki became a liar and developed a sadistic personality.

Minatsuki convinces her brother that their father is abusing her, leading to an argument between them. Kaede is a Diclonius girl, an evolved species superior to humans.and is the main characterfrom the Elfenlied series. In the orphanage where she grew up, she was constantly bullied by the other children because she looked different. This bullying resulted in her personality splitting into three parts;Kaede, Lucy and Nyu. When the orphanage children beat and killed their puppy in front of them, Lucy, her psychotic personality, came out and killed all the children in a fit of rage.

As she grew up, she became incredibly sadistic. She cuts off limbs and blinds enemies, and as if that wasn't enough, she'd rather bleed them to death than take their lives. Despite her indifference to human life, she will neither harm nor kill Kouta, the male protagonist of the series, in front of his eyes.

2 Kotonoha Katsura (Schultage)

One of the two main heroines of School Days, Kotonoha is sweet, intelligent, polite and reserved. In fact, she is so reservedShe doesn't have a single boyfrienduntil she meets Sekai Saionji and Makoto Itou. After meeting, Kotonoha and Makoto became a couple. Their relationship had many difficulties as Makoto would sometimes forget her boyfriend and hang out with someone else, mainly Sekai.
